East Anglian Air Ambulance called to Bury St Edmunds to help woman injured in fall




An air ambulance was called to Bury St Edmunds last night to help treat a woman injured in a fall.

The critical care team from the East Anglian Air Ambulance’s Anglia One was tasked by helicopter to Bury to help the East of England Ambulance Service with a woman in her 40s, who had suffered an accidental injury.

A spokesperson said a doctor and a critical care paramedic gave the patient a full assessment and provided care at the scene, including administering advanced pain relief.

The crew accompanied the woman by land ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and the air ambulance were called to a home in the town following reports that a woman had been injured in a fall.

The air ambulance was seen on the outskirts of Bury town centre at about 10pm yesterday.
