Thetford man charged with possession of class A drugs after car chase
Two men have been arrested and one charged for drug possession after police chased and stopped a vehicle
Officers stopped the vehicle which attempted to evade them late on Tuesday June 7 near Wisbech.
Upon speaking to the driver, a strong smell of cannabis was identified as coming from the vehicle and a subsequent search of the driver and vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected Class A and Class B drugs.
A search was also completed on two adult passengers, one of which had suspected class A drugs on his person. A three-year-old child was also in the vehicle at this time.
Another adult passenger was issued a cannabis warning.
Enquiries at the scene also revealed the vehicle did not have insurance, so the vehicle was seized.
The driver, a 25-year-old man from King’s Lynn, was arrested on suspicion of class A and B drugs. He was released with a caution.
The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Thetford, has been charged with possession of a Class A drug and is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates Court on June 22.
