Dunelm in Bury St Edmunds collect 542 Easter eggs for Suffolk Baby Bank

Staff at Dunelm in Bury St Edmunds have achieved their goal of filling a staircase with Easter eggs, which they donated to the Suffolk Baby Bank.

The team at the store in Easlea Road collected 542 eggs, which will be given to children who may not have otherwise received one this year.

Eggs were donated by customers, smaller shops and the Howard Estate Association of Residents and Tenants (HEART).

One local boy even donated eggs that he bought using his birthday money.

Charlotte and Pauline from Dunelm said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated Easter eggs.

“The response we have had has been amazing and without the public and organisations getting behind us we would never have been able to get 542 for Suffolk Baby Bank.”

Klaire from Suffolk Baby Bank said: “These eggs mean that children and families struggling to eat will have the treat of chocolate, but also those young people who may not be with family can know they were thought of at this special time of year.”
