Accountancy firm in Bury St Edmunds gears up for new digital tax reforms

Chartered accountants Whiting & Partners based in Bury St Edmunds has created a new specialist team to help companies manage forthcoming changes to tax rules.

The new Making Tax Digital reforms by HMRC come in next April and require companies with more than £85,000 turnover to keep digital record and make digital tax returns.

Whiting & Partners celebrates its 90th anniversary this year and has specialist knowledge of the agricultural, construction, property and retail sectors as well as providing core accounting services.

Tax partner Philip Peters said: “Over the past nine decades it is unlikely we have faced changes like the massive overhaul in the UK’s taxation system that is going on now. We’ve taken a lead with our clients in helping them to meet the demands of the Making Tax Digital programme and are determined to continue that lead with our new dedicated tax team.”
