Sun shines for Stowmarket Community Fun Day held by Stowmarket Churches Together

The sun was out in full force at this year’s Community Fun Day in Stowmarket.

Around 600 people gathered at St Peter’s Churchyard in the town for the event, which was held by Stowmarket Churches Together, which saw visitors take on a 50ft inflatable assault course as well as circus skills workshops.

Various games, balloon making, cream teas and a barbecue were also on offer over the course of the afternoon.

Caroline Davies, of New Life Church, said: “It was a really really good day and we got lots of positive comments.

“We hold the fun day as a way to bless the people of Stowmarket and show them that people do care and that Stowmarket is a great place that we should be proud of.”

The event, as well as all activities and food on offer, is entirely free of charge as a way to take pressure off of struggling parents and families.

“We believe that costs should never be a hurdle for people who want to take part,” she said.
