Suffolk described as a 'most attractive county' in latest Call the Midwife episode

Call the Midwife fans in Suffolk were left delighted at the weekend after their county received high praise in the latest episode of the BBC hit series.

In the third episode of series 10, which aired at 8pm on Sunday, Suffolk was described as a 'most attractive county' by Nurse Phyllis Crane, played by Linda Bassett.

The line came after Miss Higgins, played by Georgie Glen, announced she had been invited to stay with a 'rather talkative' friend in Bury St Edmunds for a week during the summer.

Fans of the show took to social media to express their excitement that the county and town had received mentions in the show.

One said: "Nurse Crane and Mrs Higgins were quite right, Suffolk is a lovely part of the country."

Another said it was 'nice to hear a reference to Suffolk' while watching the programme.

But other users expressed sympathy for Miss Higgins' Bury-based friend, after she implied she wasn't keen on paying her a visit.

One said: "I feel sorry for Miss Higgins friend in Suffolk, imagine not wanting to go see someone just because they're talkative! Being chatty isn't a crime!"

Meanwhile one user was confused by the description of Suffolk, claiming that he'd rather go on holiday to Spain.
