Stowmarket man sentenced for possessing indecent images and videos of children
A man from Stowmarket who admitted possessing indecent photographs and movies of children has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Shaun Rampling, 25, of Hill Rise, appeared on Thursday December 17 at Ipswich Crown Court. He had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to five charges of making the images.
The court heard that police had found a total of more than 370 images stored on a laptop computer and on memory sticks. Judge John Devaux was told that when the devices were examined, 376 images which had been downloaded from the internet were discovered.
Rampling was sentenced to eight months imprisonment suspended for 18 months and ordered to sign on the sexual offences register for 10 years.
Judge Devaux also made Rampling the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order and told him he must participate in an internet sex
offenders programme.
All the devices on which the indecent images were found will be confiscated, said the judge.
