Bargain hunters could snap up some treasure at a fundraising auction in Bury St Edmunds next week.

St Nicholas Hospice Care is holding the event at its Donation Centre, on Chapel Pond Hill, on Saturday May 16.

Paul Devine, Donation Centre Supervisor, said there would be 150-200 lots on offer, including white goods, jewellery and watches, pictures, bric a brac, lawnmowers and bicycles.

“Two very nice Turkish rugs will go under the hammer, as well as several boxes of assorted small goods aimed at people to buy and sell at their own car boot sales,” he said.

It is the first time the Donation Centre has held an auction, with all the items available having been donated to the Hospice.

There will be a sale preview on Friday May 15, from 2-8pm, with the Donation Centre opening at 8am on May 16 ahead of the auction starting at 10am.
