Sparky helps make fire safety lessons fun

Sparky the Fire Dog helped get the fire safety message across to 100 children at Beck Row Primary Academy.

He visited the school with members of nearby RAF Mildenhall's USAF 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, who also took along fire fighting equipment, uniforms and helmets to show the children from the reception, early years and key stage one classes.

As the fire fighters mixed fun with a serious message, some of the children even had the chance to try on the heavy boots, helmets and fire-fighting clothes the crews wear in action, though they were many sizes too large for the youngsters.

But Sparky had wisely taken along some plastic fire helmets that were the right size
