St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds, raises thousands with Skydive day at Beccles Airfield

A day of skydives has raised more than £39,000 to support vital services provided by Nicholas Hospice Care.

In August, 34 thrill seekers from the Bury St Edmunds area, jumped out of a plane taking off from Beccles Airfield - with two completing their sky dives at a later day.

Skydive Day took place as the hospice was celebrating 40 years of caring for the community, with more fund-raisers taking part than ever before.

Fran Bean, event fundraiser for St Nicholas Hospice, said: “To raise such a phenomenal amount of money and have so many participants join us to celebrate 40 years of St Nic’s is beyond what we could have hoped for.”

A total of £38,687 was raised from Skydive Day, which was sponsored by Hugh J Boswell.

The money raised by the event will support St Nicholas Hospice Care’s mission to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support to families across West Suffolk and Thetford.
