See inside Three Horseshoes in Barrow, near Bury St Edmunds, now open after major refurbishment
The landlord of the Three Horseshoes in Barrow which has reopened after a major refurbishment said he believes the pub trade is robust.
Antony Brazier who employs a team of 10, has offered his ‘heartfelt thanks’ to those who carried out the work and residents who have supported the pub since he took over last spring.
The Three Horseshoes, near Bury St Edmunds, reopened at the weekend with a revamped interior and kitchen.
A new dedicated pool and darts area has been created to tempt customers.
Looking ahead to to spring and summer, a new outside dining area is also in place.
Mr Brazier said: “The refurbishment has gone amazingly and the pub looks fantastic, everything looks fresh, bright and brand new while retaining the country pub feel.”
He is now looking forward to expanding the menu in the pub’s newly refurbished kitchen.
The father-of-two, who runs the pub with help from his partner Alice Oliver, said the business has grown substantially since he took over at Easter, with the food side really taking off.
Mr Brazier believes the industry can be robust ‘as long as you have the right offering and aren’t charging too much’.
He said village pubs can survive as long as customers continue coming through the door.
“Even if it is for a bite to eat, or for a drink, use us or lose us,” he added.
The Three Horseshoes is part of the Admiral Taverns group.
Mr Brazier said the group’s landlords in Suffolk lean on each other for friendship and advice.
He said: “We are building bonds as everyone is in the same boat.”
