A14 including Orwell Bridge near Ipswich set to be closed for six-week period
Parts of the A14 near Ipswich, including the Orwell Bridge, will be closed over a six-week period due to maintenance work.
National Highways are carrying out the overnight works on the eastbound carriageway to replace the existing weather station on the Orwell Bridge with new updated technology and equipment.
Routine maintenance work will be carried out and new park and ride signs installed as well.
The works are to be carried out between this Saturday and March 25, weather permitting.

A14 between Junction 55 to 58 eastbound to be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am on following dates:
February 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, March 5 and 6.
Traffic will be diverted off the A14 at Junction 55 on to the A1214 (Colchester Road), A12 to re-join the A14 at Junction 58.
A14 between Junction 55 and 58 eastbound Lane 1 to be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am on following dates:
February 7 to 11, February 14 to 18, February 21 to 25, February 28 to March 4, March 7 to March 11, March 14 to March 18, March 21 to March 25
The A14 will remain open but reduced to one lane with a temporary 40mph speed restriction.
The new weather station on the Orwell Bridge will provide more accurate weather information for the location.
It is a follow-up scheme, after the installation of high wind speed monitoring sensors were put in place last year.
