At the end of September the My WiSH charity held their annual thank you event at Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club.

This was the first time in three years the local NHS Charity was able to hold the event, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sue Smith, head of fundraising for the charity, who support West Suffolk Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We try to thank as many of our wonderful supporters as we can, saying thank you is so important and something we take pride in doing.”

Alongside her team, Sue said she was ‘privileged to meet so many amazing and inspirational people’ in their roles.

She added: “Everyone in the room had their own reason for supporting us and to see them all together, sharing their stories was just incredible.

“We are so pleased to have been able to bring these evenings back.”

The thank you event was sponsored by Sema Lease, and Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club allowed My WiSH to use their facilities for free - meaning the celebration cost nothing to hold.

Sue explained: "Having Sema Lease and the cricket club support us to cover the cost was just fantastic.

"These fundraisers have worked hard to help us enhance patient care and support staff and we want to ensure their donations do just that."
