A a career change has become a pet project for Stowmarket ex-journalist Steve Penny.

Former Diss Express editor Steve was made redundant by The Press Association last year. So he and his partner Jan Pinder launched the Husse Norfolk & Suffolk pet nutrition service this month and will deliver dog and cat food across west and mid-Suffolk and west and south Norfolk.

Steve said: “I hit the big 5-0 last year and, when we heard I was being made redundant, we thought now was the time to work for ourselves in something we enjoy doing.”

Husse (say ‘Hoo-say’) is a Swedish pet food brand.

“It is the market leader in many countries but has only recently been introduced to England,” said Steve.

Jan, who was a Mencap service manager in Bury St Edmunds, said: “We offer free samples and nutritional advice to ensure pets get the correct food.”
