Queen thanks Mildenhall care home residents for 'splendid' Easter card

Residents at a Mildenhall care home received a thank you letter from the Queen after they designed an Easter card for her.

The residents at Mabbs Hall, in High Street, decided to craft a card for the Queen when they sent 'thinking of you cards' to relatives unable to visit during the coronavirus pandemic.

Home manager Angelica Ibayan said: "One of our residents who has dementia said we should make one for the Queen.

"A few of our residents sat on a table and hand crafted, cut, pasted, painted and designed the card."

They have since received a letter of thanks from the Queen.

The letter, signed by Lady-in-Waiting Susan Rhodes, said: "The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for the splendid card you have sent for Easter.

"Her Majesty was glad to hear from you and appreciated your thoughtful message.

"In the current situation, the Queen sends her best wishes to you all and I am to thank you, once again, for writing at this difficult time."

Mrs Ibayan said the letter brought 'much positivity and delight to everyone in the home'.
