Woolpit Post Office, near Bury St Edmunds, and Queens Way Post Office, in Ipswich, set to temporarily close
A village post office near Bury St Edmunds is among those set to close for almost two months while extensive building work is carried out.
Woolpit Post Office, inside the East of England Co-op, will be temporarily closed from Thursday, October 17, until Saturday, December 14, which covers the busy Christmas posting period.
Damien Haydock, Post Office partner account manager, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.
“The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
During the temporary closure of the Woolpit Post Office customers have been advised to use Elmswell Post Office or the branch in Rattlesden.
The Queens Way Post Office, inside the East of England Co-op in Rands Way, Ipswich is another that will be closed temporarily.
Building work at the store will last for five weeks, starting on Monday, October 28, ending on Thursday, December 5.
During the closure it is suggested customers use post offices in Felixstowe Road or Cliff Lane, Ipswich.
