Police called after car reverses into wall at Aldi supermarket, in Bury St Edmunds




Police were called to a supermarket in a town after a car reversed into a wall.

Officers were called at 9.40am to reports of a car that had damaged a wall at Aldi in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said the supermarket had asked a structural engineer to assess the damage.

An eyewitness said the car had gone into the shop’s chiller causing Aldi to shut the cheese aisle.

The owner of the car has arranged recovery.

A cordon was installed around the car which was parked in a parent and child space.
