Police appeal for witnesses after racial incident




Police are appealing for witnesses after a racial incident occurred in Bury St Edmunds.

The incident took place on Monday at around 12.20pm while a family was walking from McDonald’s in Cornhill towards the Arc Shopping Centre.

It is alleged racially aggravated comments were directed towards the family by a man.

A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and released to answer bail on November 19.

Officers are trying to trace the family involved in the incident.
