Police and ambulance called to 'medical incident' in Bury St Edmunds town centre
Emergency services were called to a medical incident in Bury St Edmunds town centre this morning.
The East of England Ambulance Service alerted Suffolk Police to the incident in Guildhall Street at about 9.40am.
A police spokeswoman said a man in a public place had taken ill.
"One officer stayed on the scene until the ambulance left," she said.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and an East Anglian Air Ambulance vehicle were called following reports of a man in cardiac arrest.
He said one patient was transported to West Suffolk Hospital.
