If built, Sizewell C would power the equivalent of around six million homes, supporting up to 10,000 jobs in Suffolk and across the UK.
Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng has today committed to the funding, which will continue the development of the Sizewell C project, being run by energy company EDF.
Meanwhile, the A143 at Stuston, near Diss, is blocked after a crash involving a car and tractor.
