Bury in Bloom donate plant displays to Theatre Royal in Westgate Street, Bury St Edmunds
Two ‘plant theatres’ have been installed outside a historic Suffolk venue, to coincide with an accessible arts festival.
The plant displays are now outside the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds, following a donation from Bury in Bloom.
Bury in Bloom approached the theatre in Westgate Street about a possible collaboration, after cuts to Suffolk County Council’s arts funding were announced in January.
Chris Wiley, Bury in Bloom coordinator said “In a relatively short amount of time, with thanks to a few generous individuals and sponsors along the way, we’re absolutely thrilled to support the Theatre Royal for their Bloom Festival.
“The staff have kindly offered to keep the displays maintained throughout the summer for our judging day in July.”
The Bloom Festival started on March 25 and will run to April 6.
It is part of the venue’s ongoing mission to make theatre accessible to everyone.
