A14 Bury St Edmunds multi-vehicle crash sees person taken to hospital




A person was taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the A14 in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Police was alerted at 8.56am to the incident involving two cars and a van on the A14 eastbound just after the British Sugar factory.

The ambulance and fire services were called.

The fire service freed one person who was taken to hospital.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said the East Anglian Air Ambulance, a SARS vehicle, three ambulances and two ambulance officer vehicles attended.

They said a person was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further care.

A full closure was in place eastbound.

National Highways said it was shut between junction 43 at St Saviours Interchange and junction 44 at Moreton Hall.

Traffic was stopped westbound and then released.

At 12.57pm, National Highways said the A14 was open eastbound.

Further delays have been reported in Bury after police were called to Skyliner Way at 8.20am to a crash between two cars.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said no one was injured in the collision.
