Outside area of Dog and Partridge pub in Bury St Edmunds set for revamp as plans approved
A revamp to a town pub’s outside area has been given the go-ahead by planners.
West Suffolk Council has approved Greene King’s proposals to install two pergolas in the back garden of the Dog and Partridge, in Crown Street, Bury St Edmunds.
It also submitted plans for a new metal frame arch for climbing plants and the seating area, a new metal entrance arch including signage and associated groundworks.
The Grade II listed building is understood to date back to the 17th century.
A design, access and heritage statement said: “The Dog and Partridge is an important part of the local community. The effective use of the external space, is crucial for the public house in maintaining a sustainable business model moving forward.”
The plans were approved on September 1.
