The Bury St Edmunds cathedral’s ‘Hedgehog Highway’, which it dubbed its ‘cutest door’ on social media this week, was installed in The Yard door last April to help its prickly pals safely reach the outdoor quiet space.

The Yard, which also launched last April, uses a piece of once overgrown land on the site to create a safe space for young people.

They can use the space to learn new skills, meet new friends and improve their mental health, wellbeing and resilience with activities including scrap-woodworking, eco crafts and firepit cooking.

In January, it received £10,000 in National Lottery funding.

Those who use The Yard have built a hedgehog house.
