Nurse launches new Bury St Edmunds aesthetics clinic after training with Harley Street academy

Helping people feel better about themselves.

That's the motto of a senior nurse who is swapping medical practice for beauty practice, after training in aesthetics.

Linda Montgomery has just launched ljm Clinical Aesthetics at Abbeyfields Clinic, in Brunel Business Court, Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds.

She is now taking her first bookings while building up the business.

"I first had the idea about four or five years ago," said Linda, who lives in Stowmarket.

"I have a friend who is a beautician and I always fancied working in the industry myself.

"I've trained in aesthetics for 18 months with the Harley Academy in the London and am now taking the first step by launching the clinic.

"It felt the time was right for a career change and people have been very supportive."

At the moment, Linda is still working on a cancer day care unit. But she is now taking bookings for one day a week at the clinic, evenings and weekends. She hopes to go full-time and is soon to launch a website.

"I am offering anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, skin boosters, complete skin care regimes and vitamin b12 injections," said Linda.

"My medical background has helped with training and qualifications needed to carry out the practice safely, particularly for instance around Botox.

"I have loved my nursing career but during the lockdowns of Covid, gave some thought to my work life balance and decided to see the idea through."

The Harley Academy is one of the leading training centres in the country, and provides postgraduate training in aesthetic medicine for doctors, dentists, nurses and midwives.

It focuses on improving patient safety by raising educational standards for the most widely-requested cosmetic procedures: botox, dermal fillers and cosmetic dermatology treatments.

"For the treatments I will be providing, I will also be working with top quality products and companies such as Merz, Teoxane and Obagi to ensure brilliant results," said Linda.

"I have a drive to help people and this way I can help them achieve positive and natural outcomes.

"Clients can have a consultation first, then a further appointment to have their treatment and a later appointment to assess results."
