Norfolk retailers warned to be vigilant over fake Scottish £50 notes

Police are warning retailers to be vigilant after receiving reports of fake Scottish £50 notes being used in shops across Norfolk.

Ten incidents of the fake notes being used in recent weeks have been reported in Norfolk including in Thetford, Wymondham, Wisbech, Diss, King’s Lynn, Sheringham, Norwich, Outwell and Great Yarmouth.

Retailers are being urged to take crime prevention measures, such as using a UV light or a testing pen, which will indicate whether a note is genuine.
