New outpatients extension creates five new clinic rooms at West Suffolk Hospital
Outpatients at West Suffolk Hospital are set to benefit from shorter waiting times following an extension to the department which has seen five new clinic rooms created.
The new area, ‘outpatients D’, has opened a in space previously occupied by the GUM clinic, which is run by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust and moved to Blomfield House in Looms Lane earlier this year.
It follows a £9,000 improvement project including new flooring, curtains and computers installed as well as frosting added to the windows to safeguard privacy.
The extra space will allow the hospital to offer additional clinics, in turn helping reduce waiting times while meeting increasing demand.
In addition, a room has also been set aside so that patients who need hearing aids fitted can have impressions taken on the same day as their original appointment.
