New Bury St Edmunds Mowgli restaurant, which opens on Friday, to support My WiSH charity
A new restaurant in Bury St Edmunds will open to the public on Friday.
Mowgli Street Food will open its doors in Abbeygate Street, with space for 112 covers indoors and six covers in an outdoor seating space.
Nisha Katona MBE, Mowgli founder, said: “Bury is taking shape and is very Mowgli indeed. We will slink in and grow organically, bringing the building to life with trees, lanterns, branches and ropes.
“I remain executive chef, everything is cooked fresh to my recipes every morning and every day we know we are only as good as our last curry.”

Since opening in 2014, Mowgli has grown to 19 sites.
The restaurant group’s charity, the Mowgli Trust, ensures that every restaurant partners with a local charity and donates a discretionary £1 added on to the end of every bill.
Bury’s Mowgli is adopting My WiSH charity and will support The WiSH Upon A Star Children’s Appeal to ensure young West Suffolk Hospital patients receive extra special care and supporting paediatric areas including diabetes, children with complex care needs, psychological needs and the emergency department.
Sally Daniels, My WiSH fund-raising manager, said “We are thrilled to have been chosen by Mowgli as their house charity.
“This is an exciting venture and we look forward to working closely with the team. The money raised will allow us to do so many things for children across Suffolk and we are truly grateful.”
Nisha said: “I’m full of enthusiasm for growth because for every Mowgli we create 30 jobs, aim to pay over £500,000 per year to a local charities and share our chat bombs and cheese toast and gunpowder chicken with more cities across the nation.”
