New clothes shop in Bury St Edmunds celebrates women 'no matter what their age or background'

A new womenswear shop has opened celebrating women of all ages.

Maia & Cecile opened in Bury St Edmunds following lockdown and showcases designers from across the globe.

The shop, on Abbeygate Street, has been launched by Georgiana Misket and marks her first high-street venture after trading online for several years.

“I felt it was time to open our first shop, in order to provide a more personal service and to compliment our online store,” said Georgiana, 28, who lives in Norwich.

“I was looking for a location that has good footfall, plenty of visitors and is known to have a variety of independent stores.

"We’re very fortunate to be based here, where there is such a close community and a number of people have come to personally welcome us.

"We offer premium womenswear, sourced from well known and up-and-coming designers all over the world.

"The pieces are generally hard to find in the UK and are therefore, quite exclusive in their own right.

We love to celebrate women and to help them embrace their confidence through what they wear, no matter their age or background.

Georgiana’s company dates back to 2013, first as an online destination.

The new shop is set over two floors and features international brands such as LoveShackFancy, Sabina Musáyev, Sister Jane, IORANE, Bec + Bridge, and Frankies Bikinis.

“I re-branded to what we are today quite recently and there is a big emphasis on bringing our own authenticity.

"We have just launched the first Maia & Cecile collection and are working on our next collection for Spring-Summer 2021.”
