New Bury St Edmunds drama school Ruthie Henshall’s CAST brings open-to-all West End workshops and workouts to town ahead of school’s grand opening

West End musical theatre stars are heading to Bury St Edmunds for a summer of workshops as a new drama school prepares to welcome its first full-time students.

Ruthie Henshall’s CAST is offering the workshops – which are open to all – before the Northgate Business Park-based drama school opens its doors in September.

The first West End workshops kick off at The Apex on July 31 with Vicki Manser, who played Katherine Howard in Six the Musical, leading two daytime workshops for youngsters aged eight-13 and 14 upwards.

Youngsters will have the chance to learn routines and be put through their paces by Vicki, who has featured in West End shows and tours including Beautiful The Carole King Musical, Six, Bat Out of Hell, Rock of Ages and Sunny Afternon, The Kinks Musical.

The workshops are followed by a ‘Broadway Body Blast’ workout class with Vicki for ages 16-plus, suitable for all abilities, at 6.10pm.
