New Bury St Edmunds bike project launches to help pupils journeys to and from school

A new project to get children cycling to school safely kicks off this month with six free events to get people prepared.

The Bury Bike Train project is run by EcoCarriers BSE with support from Bury St Edmunds Town Council, and will see pupils riding their bikes to and from school in a group supported by adult cyclists.

The free bike fix and learn-to-ride sessions are on September 10 and 24, 10am to 1pm in Bury, and the group rides are 11am to 1pm on September 11 and 25.

Children and adults will be able to get their bikes checked over, receive one-to-one riding lessons from a qualified instructor, and enjoy a group ride along one of the Bike Train routes thanks to funding from Cycling UK.
