Boy, 16, charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Needham Market




A teenager has been charged after a stabbing in Needham Market on Saturday (October 19).

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in the London area yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Quinton Road.

This evening (Monday), the youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of bladed article.

He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court this morning (Tuesday, October 22) and is due to appear again on January 13.

A provisional court date has been set for March 16 2020.

A man, aged in his 50s, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday evening was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was released on police bail until 14 November pending further enquiries.

The victim has been transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital from West Suffolk Hospital and remains in a stable condition following an operation.
