Heath Farm in Hessett near Bury St Edmunds welcomes lambs Storm and Eunice as winds cause chaos

As Storm Eunice tore through one West Suffolk farm, two bonny new arrivals decided to make their debut.

Lambs Storm and Eunice were born at about 10am on Friday as the gusts began to cause chaos at Heath Farm in Hessett.

Katie Mitcham, who runs the farm with Mike Phillips, was attempting to drag back an 8ft gate which had been blown off its hinges and get her animals to shelter when she noticed a ewe giving birth.

She said: “We got hit very badly by the storm. It was a challenging day but in the middle of it there were these two very bonny lambs born.

“Whatever happens around you, it shows nature carries on.”

To remember their dramatic birth date, the girl was named Storm and the boy Eunice.

Katie added: “They’re doing really well and they’re thriving.”
