Dogs at polling stations in Bury St Edmunds, Saxmundham and Long Melford, near Sudbury

SuffolkNews readers have been sending in photos of their dogs at polling stations across the county with some pets seemingly more enthusiastic than others.

In Long Melford, Elvis was one of those to accompany his owner Lisa Tipper to the Community Trust football ground.

Lisa said: “He has dementia but knew he wanted to vote for the Treat party.”

Feeling slightly uninspired on voting day was Luca in Saxmundham.

His owner Vanessa Stollery said: “We've been to Saxmundham Polling Station this morning, Luca was disappointed that there were no biscuits on offer.”

We are sure the other dogs feel your pain Luca.

In Bury St Edmunds, Dilly looked far more eager to get involved with the election.

Owner Beckie Pickering said: “This is Dilly the 8 month old sheepadoodle helping me do my bit for democracy in Bury St Edmunds.”

Thanks to those who have shared photos of their dogs at polling stations.
