Man suffers head injury in Barton Mills car park
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered a serious head injury following an incident involving a car in Barton Mills.
Officers were called just after 11pm on Monday (July 15), to reports a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a car at Fiveways.
The victim – a man in his 20s – is reported to have had an argument with a woman driving a black BMW 1 Series in the McDonald’s car park.
It would then appear that in the process of either trying to get into the car, or get out of the car, the man has been struck by the vehicle. The BMW drove off and failed to stop.
The victim was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital having sustained a serious head injury and a broken arm, with his condition described as critical but stable.
It is believed that he is known to the driver of the car.
Any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who has seen a Black BMW 1 Series registration number YF63 HFY, is asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting reference 41512/19.
