Man arrested for stealing TV at Sainsburys

Police are trying to find a member of the public who assisted security staff at Sainsburys in Thetford at the weekend.

It follows an incident of shoplifting at the Forest Retail Park store yesterday, Sunday January 24, at 1.10pm when a man was detained by staff on suspicion of stealing a TV.

The group have then been involved in an altercation during which a member of the public intervened.

Officers are keen to speak with the member of the public who assisted and hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

A 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of theft was questioned by police and released on bail until March 14 while enquiries continue.
