Lorry driver pleads guilty to drink driving and dangerous driving on A14 near Bury St Edmunds
A 38-year-old lorry driver has pleaded guilty to driving at more than three times the drink drive limit on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.
Police were called at around 5.50pm on Sunday November 22 by several members of the public reporting a lorry with a 20ft trailer ‘all over the road’ and moving between two lanes on the A14 Westbound near Bury.
Police officers managed to pull over the lorry at around 6.05pm and Dimitar Kamov, of no fixed abode, was arrested.
Kamov was charged with driving with excess alcohol after blowing 107mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit for driving in England is 35mg.
Kamov appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Tuesday November 24, and pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and dangerous driving.
He was committed to Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing and remanded in custody.
A date has not yet been set for sentencing.
