Crash in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds, at junction with Western Way, sees cyclist taken to hospital

A cyclist was taken to hospital after a collision involving a car in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 1.45pm to the collision in Newmarket Road at the junction with Western Way.

The road was blocked.

A police spokesperson said the cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said an ambulance, a paramedic car and the BASICS car were sent to the scene.

A girl was transported to West Suffolk Hospital for further assessment and care, they said.
