Bury St Edmunds: A143 Compiegne Way road closure to continue causing traffic delays in town

A road closure that caused traffic delays in a Suffolk town this morning could remain closed for the rest of the week.

The A143 Compiegne Way is closed both ways from Orttewell Road to Hollow Road in Bury St Edmunds while emergency repairs continue.

Three fire crews were called to a large tractor fire at 8.12pm on Saturday evening and extinguished the blaze which lasted over three hours

According to the AA traffic map, there was very slow moving traffic in the area this morning as a large volume of traffic came through the town.

Suffolk Highways have been approached for comment regarding the route.
