Mr Kebab Ixworth, near Bury St Edmunds, closed after early hours fire
A kebab van stationed in a Suffolk village is shut temporarily following a fire in the early hours of today.
Mr Kebab Ixworth announced on social media this morning that it would be closed for the foreseeable future.
Owner Murat Sanci said: “We are very sorry to all of our customers but we unfortunately have to close for a little while due to a fire at our Ixworth van this morning.
“However, we will open again soon with a better van than before.”
Images sent to SuffolkNews by Murat show the aftermath of the blaze.
Murat said the whole vehicle suffered smoke damage.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said one crew was alerted to a blaze at a catering van in Ixworth at 6.52am.
They used a hose-reel jet and breathing equipment to dampen the flames, she said.
The incident was dealt with by 7.45am.
