Kate given boost after positive fertility test results on TV show

Lorraine Kelly welcomed back a woman from Ixworth Thorpe on her ITV show to reveal her fertility test results this week.

Kate Oakley, first appeared back in January for their feature, Change One Thing, wanting to lose weight so she could have a baby.

The show sent her to fertility expert, Zita West, in London, whose clients have included Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett and Stella McCartney. She said: “The visit was really informative, relating weight loss to fertility and discussing the nutritional side to pregnancy was really great.”

Lorriane and mentor, Victoria Milligan, discussed how she was getting on with her eating healthy and exercise programme before giving her the news that the test showed no reason why Kate and husband Chris couldn’t conceive naturally. She said: “It was great news because you always fear that it could be me and seeing others around you having babies you do start to wonder.”

Even though Kate’s support network has got risen as her weight has fallen she knows she has to keep the focus. She said: “I think the weight loss has to be at the front of my mind for now.

“I still have a long way but my motivation is the ultimate goal, having babies.”
