“Since 2004, we have had the privilege of servicing our community and building a strong relationship with our customers.

“Your patronage has been instrumental in our success, and we are sincerely grateful for this.”

It said due to challenges faced following the Covid-19 pandemic, rising costs and the current cost-of-living crisis, they had made the difficult to close.

“The decision was not taken lightly, and we understand the impact it may have on you, our valued customers.”

The last day of business will be on July 29.

The notice added: “We understand you may have unused loyalty card, unfortunatley these cannot be redeemed during this time.

“If you do have remaining gift vouchers these will be honoured.

“As we bid farewell, we want to express our deepest appreciation for your loyalty and support over the years.

“It has been an honour to serve you, and we will cherish the memories and relationships we have built.

“Thank you once again for being part of our story.

“We wish you all the best and hope our paths cross again.”

Jamie Cocksedge took on the business in 2019.

It was previously run by Sheila Barnard who retired after 11 years behind the sweet counter.
