Thurston internet power cable covering hundreds of households is stolen




A copper internet power cable that reportedly covers 800 households has been stolen in Thurston near Bury St Edmunds.

Engineers were called to the site near the Fox and Hound pub this morning and are currently addressing the situation.

An area manager revealed in a Facebook post that this was not the first time a power cable has been stolen from the village.

Suffolk Police said reports of the theft were first reported a little after midnight.

A vehicle was seen dragging a part of the cable down the road near the Fox and Hound pub.

A section of the road was also closed while they investigated.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, using the crime reference 53220/22.
