Stanton East Anglian Air Ambulance volunteer receives award
A Stanton volunteer has been honoured with an East Anglian Air Ambulance inspiration award.
Terry Southgate has won the Jamie Edghill Award for Exceptional Volunteering for his efforts as main bucket collection co-ordinator for Norfolk and Suffolk.
Last year, he raised £17,000 through his collections, including more than £3,000 in one week.
The charity describes Terry as enthusiastic and passionate and said he had built up 'fantastic' relationships with members of the charity's fund-raising team.
Terry said: “I am really honoured to receive this award. It means so much to me to be recognised in this way for something I love doing and gives me great satisfaction.
"It's a great team at EAAA and it's been my privilege to be involved with such a wonderful organisation."
Phillipa Levy, special events fund-raiser, said: “All of our supporters are a constant reminder of the fantastic community that we serve and are a true inspiration to us, as without them, our service couldn't continue.
"Terry is a huge part of our volunteering team and a fantastic ambassador. We’ve very lucky to have him supporting the charity."
