An Ingham-based catering services company has opened a new site in Scotland which is expected to turnover up to £700,000 a year.

Churchill Catering Ltd now manages café services at Kirroughtree visitor centre, in Galloway Forest, a contract awarded by Forestry Commission Scotland late last year.

Managing director Tony Nicholl said he made the decision to ‘go national’ about five years ago after realising there were limited opportunities to expand within East Anglia.

He said: “We now operate from Kent all the way up to Scotland – we’ve done that through tenacity and creativity, and getting our prices right.”

The company’s expansion is creating employment opportunities at its Ingham headquarters, with four new appointments made already this month and plans to take on an apprentice, as well as to recruit 250 extra staff nationwide.

Churchill has its flagship site at High Lodge, Thetford Forest, and provides catering for Muntons, in Stowmarket, and Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre, among others.
