Students from West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds build replica of the Eiffel Tower at Suffolk Show
Visitors to the Suffolk Show were given a glimpse of a Paris landmark thanks to a replica of the Eiffel Tower built by students.
The four metre structure was assembled at the event in front of thousands of people by carpentry students from West Suffolk College
Ryan Fosker, 19, of Hadleigh helped build the tower.
The apprentice, who works for Taylor Made Joinery, said: “I’m really pleased with it. The feedback from the public has been great.”
Gav Featherstonr, a lecturer at the college, said: “It’s come out really well. Maybe we will create the Hollywood sign for the LA Olympics in 2028.”
Visitors also got the chance to enter their dogs into a selfie competition.
The winner will be announced next month and they will receive a doggy hamper.
West Suffolk College is part of the Eastern Education Group which includes One Sixth Form College.
Business students from there sold products they had made including jewellery and homemade tiramisu.
Staff also promoted green skills at a separate stand.
A college spokesperson said: “It was amazing couple of days for the Eastern Education Group at the 2024 Suffolk Show and we are always proud to be part of this fantastic occasion.”
