Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted in Stowmarket.

The incident happened between 10pm and 11.30pm last night, Saturday June 4, in the Ipswich Street area.

Two girls - one aged 13, one 14 - were walking along when three men began following them and started talking to them. Two of the men became persistent in their behaviour and one of them touched the 13-year-old’s bottom and tried to grab her and kiss her.

Police need to trace the men involved and are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.

The man who touched the 13-year-old is described as in his mid 20s to 30s, of mixed race appearance, around 5ft 6ins tall, of thin build, with short cropped dark hair. At the time he was wearing blue or green shorts and a dark hooded top.

One of the other men was white, of similar age, of thin build, with a bald head and wearing glasses and was dressed in dark clothing including dark coloured shorts, while the third was wearing flip flops, shorts and a white T-shirt.

All three were thought to have foreign accents.

If you saw the incident or have any information about the men please call Suffolk Police on 101 and quote crime number 36895/16.
