West Suffolk’s Hospital’s online charity auction has raised a record-breaking £8,400.

A range of exciting lots went under the hammer during the 10-day auction, organised by West Suffolk Hospital Charity, including a rare Beatles photo, a chance to fly a plane, a tour of the Sky Sports studios and a champagne lunch aboard a 43ft yacht.

The hospital’s forget-me-not dementia campaign, the Macmillan Unit and Rainbow Ward, antenatal, orthopaedics, neonatal, critical care and maternity departments are among a dozen areas of the hospital set to benefit from the money.

Dave Gooderham, fundraising manager for the charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted that this year’s auction has raised such a fantastic total, which will make a real difference to everyone using West Suffolk Hospital.

“Our thanks go once again to everyone who supported the fundraiser by so generously donating lots, as well as those who put in bids for the items.

“As well as helping out patients, we hope that the auction has provided people with some unique gifts to enjoy on Christmas morning.”
