St Nicholas Hospice Care launches new friends initiative for regular donors

A Bury St Edmunds-based organisation is looking to grow its circle of supporters with a new friends scheme.

St Nicholas Hospice Care is launching a Friends of St Nic’s initiative, which rewards regular donations and aims to make supporters feel more connected to the charity.

Alison Bacon-Snow, membership manager, said: “We are so lucky that we already have such amazing hospice supporters.

“Their kindness and generosity helps to ensure the charity can be there for people and their loved ones at the most difficult times.

“We hope our Friends of St Nic’s membership scheme will help people feel more connected to the charity.”

Any supporter who sets up a regular donation to the hospice will automatically become part of the scheme.

As a Friend of St Nic’s, supporters will receive a welcome letter, regular updates from the hospice and the opportunity to give feedback on the charity’s development through surveys and discussion groups.

Alison said: “By giving regularly, supporters help to fund the charity’s ongoing work.”

A regular donation of £6 per month over a year could pay for one counselling session, £13 a month could fund a bereavement café session, while £74 a month could support the cost of running a six-week child bereavement support group.
