Homes without power after car collision brings down power lines in Haughley Green




Homes in Haughley Green are without power after a car collision brought down power lines.

Police were called to Fir Tree Lane at around 5.45am this morning following reports of a collision.

An Audi had collided with a garden boundary and power lines were brought down.

A police spokesperson said the driver was found conscious and breathing and was recovered from the vehicle.

On Twitter, Stowmarket police said: "Bacton Road in Haughley Green is currently shut at the Wetherden and Bacton junction and will likely be shut for most of the day.

"This is due to power cables being down following a RTC."

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "EEAST responded to an emergency call shortly before 7.30am regarding an incident in Haughley Green, Haughley.

"We sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.

"A patient was treated on scene and was not conveyed to hospital."

On UK Power Networks website, an incident log reported around 47 customers power had been affected and power was estimated to return between 4.30-5.30pm today.
